Hi, I’ve had a meth problem, five months clean but I know I could so easily go back. I don’t want to be that person again.
I’m also recovering from a breakdown last year, this wasn’t caused by drugs alone but the drugs obliterated my reality for me. Depression and anxiety aren’t helping.
I’m not sure I have the confidence to just turn up at a meeting, and I’m not sure if it’s for me anyway, so I’m a bit stuck. I also can’t phone the helpline because I have a problem with making or receiving phone calls because of my anxiety.
I have drifted from meetings. Still clean. Looking for help with possible online sponsor and looking to get back into n recovery.
I have emailed the sponsorship.ukna.org address however I may be being impatient on a reply.
How do people go about developing online sponsorship relationship.
Brand new member just discovered the site hour ago looking to attend a meeting soon if i can pluck up courage but thought I'd introduce myself here.. thanks
I used to attend region many years ago and I seem to remember that it was only Regional Committee Members representing the Fellowship that could make 'Main motions' and vote on 'Main Motions' Like at the Area. (GSR Quorum Etc.) But I understand that now the Stearing committee have the right to make and vote on 'Main Motions' Is this correct? If so what would be the reason. I thought that the stearing committee were there to facilitate the The Region and guide rather then infuence the out comes. I might have it completly wrong. can anybody shed any light.
Does anyone know if NA have Liabilty Insrance or does our area have to take out its own?
Hi, it's been a long time since I attended a meeting and am looking to return tomorrow. Is anyone going to the Derry meeting in Queen Street tomorrow as I'd appreciate a bit of moral support.
Many thanks, Tina xx
I am really intrested in getting involved with some service but do not know how to go about it. I have commitments at my home group but wanted to expand wider.
- Please note that the usual Monday 1pm UK time meeting will be being held on both Christmas Day the 25th of December and New Years Day the 1st of January. Please see the listings in the link below for the times of those meetings wherever you are in the world.
- All our other listed meetings throughout the holidays will also be held as normal
Can someone help me, please? I am looking for a list of past UK Regional Conventions (Number, Year, Location, Theme) from UKCNA1 to the present.
Hi everyone, I'm new here and I'm thinking of attending NA meetings in my home city, Preston, but wanted to post on the forums first.
Hi there, just joined up and wanted to say hello, I'm 38 years old and drugs have been a massive problem in my life for a long time. I started taking drugs at the age of 13, first cannabis, then LSD and mushrooms, by the time I was 17 I started injecting heroin, speed. At 23 I was on my ass and managed to get help via residential rehab and NA meetings, Met my partner and had three boys, I was off the drugs for about 6-7 years before relapsing on cannabis, a few years on and I also started drinking alcohol daily and taking mdma at weekends (not every weekend).
live in bromsgrove area but wondered of anyone would be able to give me a lift to a group outside this town...maybe redditch or birmingham as i have no transport?? any help would be great as not been to a group yet, and need a kick up the ass to get going! thanks
I'm struggling to find a sponsor as female sponsors are like gold dust in my area (Stoke-on-Trent). Can anyone help with this as I'm quite happy to have an email sponsor.
I want to attend meetings in Reading area. Really nervous. Can’t get through to helpline as there is just an message saying it’s engaged and to call back. I’ve been calling for a while.
Is it possible for someone who attends meetings in Reading area to email / call me to discuss what meeting I should attend. Never been before.
Thank you and apologies gor posting in wrong place. Typing on a phone and can’t see screen very well.
This was posted in our old 'Notices' section, which no one ever uses anymore since the Whatsapp Group.
When a caller asks if minors with addiction problems are allowed in meetings the answer is yes. But we suggest they be accompanied by an adult. If the meeting is not 'open to all', then the adult can walk them in before the meeting starts and collect them at the end. This is for their protection and our own.
Hi shame its come to this but we need some advice. We have a gsr for the group who is refusing to carry the consience to area because he disagrees with it.How can we move forward ?
As a Helpline volunteer you are the voice of NA when speaking to callers.
Bear in mind the Traditions, especially the one about NA, thus us, having no opinions on outside issue.
Please attend a couple of online meetings so you know how to access them, and can promote them to callers who are isolated, or too nervous to attend a face to face meeting. Click here to read instructions on how to access:
If its not urgent give email address [email protected] if it is very important and caller needs to speak to the H&I chair URGENTLY give Chair's number, this can be found on the call log
CALLS THAT NEED REFERRING TO H&I
- Professionals asking to set up a H&I meeting inside a HM Prison
- Anyone asking for contact details of any H&I in any area throughout the UK
- Anyone requesting UK H&I learning days
- Anyone requesting anything to do with setting up a H&I meeting in a treatment centre
