At the Helpline we get enquiries from drug workers wanting meetings started in their facilities, which is great, but we have to remind them that these meetings can only be run by Recovering addicts for: 'The therapeutic value of one addict helping another is without parallel'. Thus the Committee must be made up entirely of recovering addicts.

Hi there, our local area is served by an ASC that is far away and as a consequence poorly attended by our local GSR's. We think a Local Service Committee meeting would help connect our meetings and allow us to connect/contribute better to Region. How do we go about starting a local LSC/ASC please?
Hi i have been an herion addict now for 10 yrs and recently went along to the 4 avalible NA meetings tht i can travel to, really just trying to see which one i felt was for me. I enjoyed myself at 3-4 and was looking forward to choosing which one would be my home meeting , all this happened bout one month ago , but since then my motivtion hs just run way and left me , im still mostly sticking to my script but not always .
With the introduction of a Whatsapp group all 45 Helpline volunteers feel much more part of a team. We help each other with enquiries, alerts and advice, even though we are dispersed around the island. Come join us on a weekly two hour shift. New Volunteers are always welcome. You must have a minimum of one year's cleantime, a phone (with whatsapp preferably), a computer with broadband in your home, and be registered on this website. Also needed is a good telephone manner & an understanding of the word commitment: Regular attendance is imperative (Illness and holidays aside).
Hi, I have been accused of breaking the traditions by a fellow, fellowship member. She claims that in my book where I have written down some catchphases that doe the rounds in addiction and recovery, although at no point is fellowships or NA even mentioned, not even slightly or suggestively, that I have broke the traditions. Below is the section, please can I have some clairty and feedback on the matter as I am sure I have done nothing wrong and this sort of bad mouthing etc that is circling our local rooms is putting me on the verge of quitting and possibly relapsing!
Hi, not sure who to contact about this but here goes anyway. i had a call tonight from a recovering addict (14 yrs). The chair of his home group admitted to relapsing last week and was still chair of the group this week. He felt this was wrong as it goes against tradition (?) He wanetd to contact a point of authority to report this.
I said that he might say soemthing in the meeting if he wanted to or he could speak to the GSR or another member of the comittee.

Hi I’m an Addict and my name is Steve (aka Chia Jen) and for the last 13 years I have lived in geographical isolation on a group of islands, The Outer Hebrides, 40 miles off the West Coast of Scotland.
I have searched through the forum.and can't find an answer, so I'm sorry if this has been asked.
I'm in Northern Ireland and can't find anywhere online to buy a one year keyring. Well I found one place but I don't want to pay in excess of $40 for postage from the states.
Any ideas where I can buy a keyring in the UK or a UK based company?

Thanks to everyone who makes these meetings possible I can't get to f2f meetings due to childcare and distance but didn't think I'd be able to manage online as I'm useless with technology however I gave it a go tonight and managed to do it so this is going to be a big help in hopefully being able to get clean
I am wondering is there any guidlines for multiple meetings. They have different meetings on different days at the same time in the same building.
I have been asked to help these groups because they have one GSR and one treasuer.
They they have three secretaries for three meetings.
I need this information by the 1st February 2016.

2, Why are the Steering Committees expenses not included as part of the Expenditure Sheet?

Just one of the Bulletins done for the US fellowship NA Outreach Service Bulletin #1
WHAT IS OUTREACH
Most dictionary definitions of “outreach” describe it as:
to reach beyond, to surpass. In Narcotics Anonymous, we use
the term to describe an array of services designed specifically
to insure that any NA member, group, or meeting can
participate in the NA service structure and receive services
they so desire. The goals of outreach service are to assist
groups in solving problems that may impede their growth or
I've been reading Region minutes over the last year and can I please ask WTF is going on...........?
Now you may well ask what exactly has that question got to do with my recovery and the simple answer at 23 years clean would be very little......
What our national service body gets up to, in our name, that's us the membership and the groups, and with our money, does have a barring on our fellowship in the UK as a whole and in particular the still suffering addicts and newcomers whom we all, one hopes, aspire to serve in one way or another.
